I remind myself focus is self, myself, looking to change my own mind, reactions, emotions, desires, and whatnot, trying to engage in debates, conflicts, or even global issues is not really my cup of tea at this moment, though such things cannot be avoided entirely, also suppression and hiding is not a solution either, so yes self focus first, everyone is walking their own process, at their own location/points, understanding that conflicts/debates issues are bound to come, they are triggers, they will test my resolve, how reactive I become etc.
So I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to react to the reactions of another, not seen/realizing I don’t have the full story of that person, what’s behind their reactions, so reacting to them reacting is counter-productive, it leads to nowhere.
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to fear reactions of another, fear them becoming conflictual towards me, not seen/realizing there can be support in such moments, for all parties involved, should I direct myself to be supportive, instead of reacting to the reactions.
Everyone is where they should be exactly, meaning, its a point, a door they must walk thru, me judging and reacting to their choices/situations is not supportive, in fact its outright judgmental, and nasty. Besides, I could have easily been in their shoes, so why judge, why react.
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to see myself as a pious, religious, nice person while others are evil-minded evil doers. Not seen/realizing this holier than thou mentality is really fucked up shit, it lacks any understanding of what another is going thru, their history to be where they’re at.
I commit myself to see/realize everyone is equally innocent, equally holy, equally worthy, equally of life and substance, no matter what, one cannot lose their innate innocence or goodness.
Its the religious bullshit that divide people into saved and the sinful, well, I let go of such old nonsense belief systems that I acquired as a child.
This is why self-focus is very important.
I commit myself to be of support by not judging, by not reacting to reactions, and by focusing on myself first, that’s my process.
